A space for the whole community.
Goat Climbing will be a space for the whole community, and we will be taking a number of steps to bring it to life.
Community consultation: In partnership with Headspace Horsham, Goat Climbing will consult with their Youth Reference Group as well as members of Adaptive Climbing Victoria in the co-design on the physical space and programming to ensure it meets the needs of our target community.
Venue hire: Goat Climbing will also include a free venue hire option funded by the community for the community. Private bookings will be accepted through a carefully considered equity application process.
Community programs: Working in collaboration with community organisations, Goat Climbing will prioritise activities such as:
After-school study sessions (including a free meal)
Peer mentoring programs
Volunteer and work experience opportunities
“Climbing has helped me to find a sense of community within sport, which has helped me to feel less alone. I feel like I can belong without the pressure of trying to be someone else.”
“Climbing supports me with my confidence and with the support of my community I have more opportunities to participate in sports, and ultimately became physically and mentally stronger because of them. Becoming part of the climbing community has given my life new meaning, and I hope that other young people can experience it, just as I have.”
Offering 3: Community
Goat Climbing is all about community. To bring people together, celebrate our passion for sport, climbing and the outdoors, we will engage with the whole community through events, programs and workshops such as:

Friendly climbing competitions for all levels
Little Goats program (parents and kids meet-ups)
Goat Climbing with actively engage with schools in the region to offer school holiday program and school group outings. Our facility will include a seperate climbing area suited for young children and families to ensure everyone will have the space to enjoy our facilities.
